- ½ pound (2 sticks) unsalted butter, slightly softened to room temperature
- ¼ cup chopped fresh herbs
- Pinch of kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
1. Mash butter with the back of a wooden spoon or spatula until smooth. Stir in herbs, salt and pepper to evenly combine.
2. Place herb butter in center of a large piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Wrap plastic/paper around butter to form a log. Twist each end to seal. Chill completely in refrigerator.
3. Remove plastic/paper to serve and cut into slices.
Yield: 16 (1-tablespoon) servings
Cook’s Tip: Use herb compound butter on grilled steak or fish, potatoes, corn on the cob, sauteed vegetables or under the skin of poultry before cooking.
