Chef Ji Hye Kim in her dining room at Miss Kim restaurant.

Miss Kim’s Chef Ji Hye Kim might have learned how to cook from her mom, but she learned how to cook for a restaurant at Zingerman’s Roadhouse. We couldn’t be more excited to present this incredible dinner with Ji Hye on Tuesday, April 10th, where she’ll be paying homage to her two culinary homes—Korea and Zingerman’s Roadhouse.

From the 115-year-old story of Korean immigrants in America to Ji Hye’s personal culinary journey , this dinner will connect us with history and really good food. The menu will feature dishes like LA galbi (marinated BBQ short ribs developed by Korean immigrants who settled in Los Angeles) and a very special Roadhouse version of bibimbob–a true celebration of Korean American cuisine! With additional favorites like a Roadhouse-inspired kimchi, silken tofu stew, mini burgers with Korean toppings, and a matcha chiffon cake from Zingerman’s Bakehouse, all we can say is come hungry! Very hungry!

You’ll leave satiated—with food, history, and learning—because Ji Hye’s also going to show you how to make gutjuri, a fresher version of kimchi salad. There will be door prizes as well, including copies of Ari Weinzweig’s latest book, A Lapsed Anarchist's Approach to the Power of Beliefs in Business.

Join us for a really fun night as we explore new beliefs about Korean cooking with Ji Hye Kim!
